What we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it, in plain language.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit avalonmetalfab.com (or any successor domain that links to this policy), request a quote, email or call us, or otherwise deal with us as a customer, supplier, or website visitor.
It does not cover third-party websites we link to. Their privacy practices are their own.

3. What we collect
Information you provide
When you use our quote or contact forms, or email us, we may collect:
- Name and company name
- Email address and phone number
- Service interest and project details
- Files you attach (drawings, CAD, PDFs, images), up to the size limits stated on the form
- Any other information you choose to include in messages
We do not collect payment card numbers through this website. Invoicing and payment details, if any, are handled through separate commercial channels.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting and security providers may process technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, referring URL, pages viewed, and timestamps. This site is hosted on Netlify infrastructure. Netlify may process request logs and apply security measures (for example, bot mitigation) as described in Netlify’s own privacy documentation.
We do not currently operate third-party advertising or behavioral marketing pixels on this site. If we add analytics or marketing cookies later, we will update this policy and, where required, obtain consent.
Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies or local storage that are necessary for the site to function (session, security, or preference). Essential cookies do not require consent under typical Canadian guidance for purely functional use. We do not use non-essential tracking cookies at this time.
4. Why we collect it (purposes)
We use personal information to:
- Respond to quote requests and inquiries
- Prepare quotes, fulfill orders, and provide customer support
- Communicate about drawings, lead times, delivery, and invoices
- Maintain business, quality, and tax records
- Improve and secure our website and prevent fraud or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties for their marketing. Drawings and specifications you send are treated as confidential business information and used to quote and manufacture your work.
5. Consent
By submitting a form or contacting us, you consent to our collecting and using the information provided for the purposes above. You may withdraw consent subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice. For example, we may still need to retain records of a completed order. Withdrawal may limit our ability to provide services.
Commercial electronic messages (if we send them) are subject to Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Transactional messages about an existing quote or order do not require marketing consent. Marketing email, if used, will include an unsubscribe mechanism.
6. Service providers
We use service providers to operate the website and deliver messages. In particular:
- Resend processes outbound email when you submit a quote request (message content and attachments are transmitted to our inbox)
- Netlify provides hosting, CDN, and security for the website
Providers may process data in Canada, the United States, or other countries. When information leaves Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access by foreign authorities. We use providers we believe maintain appropriate safeguards for the services they perform.
7. Disclosure
We may disclose personal information when:
- You consent or direct us to (for example, involving a freight carrier)
- Required by law, regulation, court order, or government request
- Needed to protect Avalon, our customers, or the public from fraud or harm
- In connection with a business transaction (sale, merger, or reorganization), subject to appropriate confidentiality protections
8. Retention
We keep quote requests, correspondence, and project records for as long as needed for the purposes collected, including reorders, quality history, warranty issues, and legal, tax, or accounting requirements. We then securely delete or anonymize them when no longer required.
If you want information removed earlier, contact us. We will delete or de-identify what we are not legally required or contractually entitled to keep.
9. Accuracy, access, and correction
Under PIPEDA you may request access to personal information we hold about you, subject to limited exceptions (for example, information that would reveal confidential commercial information of another party). You may also request correction of inaccurate information. We will respond within a reasonable time. Send requests to marcelo@avalonmetalfab.com.
10. Safeguards
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including access controls on business systems and encrypted transport (HTTPS) for this website. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please avoid sending highly sensitive personal data in unsolicited email when a secure channel can be arranged.
11. Children
This website is intended for business customers and adult professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links and third parties
Embedded maps or external links (for example, Google Maps) are operated by third parties under their own terms and privacy policies. Interacting with those services may result in data collection by those providers.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy by posting a revised version with a new effective date. Material changes will be highlighted on this page. Continued use of the site after the effective date constitutes notice of the updated policy for website visitors.
